Hi,
My name is David Ellis, and I'm an alcoholic.
Oops - wrong forum
I ride roller coasters for a hobby, attending trips with the European Coaster Club and Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain...yes, I am from England.
I currently use Video Studio 8 upgrade (originally bought VS6). Haven't bothered to upgrade to newer version as simply been too busy to learn new stuff...is it worth upgrading?
Best wishes,
David.

Hi everyone

Post by Mikewm »

I am a retired Brit now living in Malaysia after spending many years in the IT/Oil industry in the UK. I purchased Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 recently so that I could spend some time editing a collection of video shot with my Sony camcorder over a number of years and burning the resulting movies onto DVD for posterity!

I am having some difficulties capturing the video directly from my camcorder onto my PC running Vista Business edition. The new PC I have has an IEEE 1394 port but I cannot get it to function so that I can capture movies directly from the camcorder onto the PC. This is not a problem with DVD MovieFactory but rather a problem with my PC I think... Hopefully will resolve the problem real soon.... Then if there are any problems with the software, I can come back and get some help from those of you who have much more experience than me.....

I'm kat. I'm too old to tell you my age, but I've been using Ulead for about three months and I really love this program. I tried four other programs to find the one that suited me best. So far, so good! :D

I just got the email allowing to be a member here. I thought I was one, but as per instruction I am posting to introduce my nickname. 8)

I use ulead video studio, started at v11, needed overlays, upgraded to a strange version, will no doubt upgrade again.
There is capable beyond expectations, and I like it even with errors (little things so far). My video is a 10mbit mpeg2, rubbery type video, it does many sizes, and ulead does great like that.
My purpose for video was to overcome a memory problem that came with my physical problems. It has done alot more than keep a memory, with all the things I did not know could be done to a simple video without a great editor,(I have even been emotional to something I made in surprise.)

Thanks for member approval, I used to have questions, but seems to be full speed ahead.

Introduction

Post by TisimeFilms »

I don't want to give away any personal information....but I will say I am a amateur filmmaker using UleadVideoStudio 10 plus. I love making movies for fun. I am currently working on my most complex project, a story of a boy dealing with the event of his best friend's death after a wolf attack.
I hope I could give tips and hope to receive them!

Thanks

Checking in as suggested by administrator. I'm looking for the best way to edit AVCHD home videos for playback on the Popcorn Hour. I'd like to use the AVCHD preset with smartrendering to reduce the rendering time, but there are some posts that say it isn't without defects.

Just checking in. Love DVD Movie Factory even with the crashes. But I've been taking a break from it lately.

A Bit About Me

Post by Howell »

Hi there,
I am Howell Morris and live in Pontardulais which is about 9 miles west of Swansea in South Wales. I retired from British Steel/Corus nearly 3 years ago but am now working as a Handy Man in small factory. It helps to pay for my toys.
I have been into video editing since I bought my first camera in 1991 and the first editing system I used was the pause button on the video recorder.
Used an Amiga with genlock and with Editmate before I moved up to using a Studio 200 and 400 on the pc. Have used a variety of editing programmes and have used Videostudio since version 5.
Tried to start business offering video to dvd conversion but not very successful round here although i occasionally get asked to do it. I was fortunate enough to be asked to write some tutorials and guides to the Digital Video Made Easy magazine and Digital Video Techniques. Wrote about 17 tutorials for DVME and 3 guides for Digital Video Techniques.
I am a member of Llangennech Camcorder Club and am supposedly looked on as the expert and indeed Videostudio is our main editing programme.
Recently, I produced a DVD for our local rugby club on behalf of the ex-players association. It was cine film taken in the 60`s which was a highly successful period for the club. This I converted to dvd. Our local choir was asked permission so I could use music from their cd`s for the soundtrack. The dvd went on sale fully packaged even with cellophane wrap. I was quite pleased with the response and over 100 copies were sold at £5 each. My share and the former players share was then donated to the rugby club`s junior section after consultation with the family of the guy who originally took the cine film.
If you want any more info about me then feel free to ask. Biggest problem I have is that when asked, and asked quite a lot, to help then I just can`t say no.
