"Fade" transition in VS11?

Post by ricwhite »

I am using the trial VS11. I have the full VS11+ on order. I am building my first video project and would like to add a transition between the slides which smoothly fades into the next slide. I know it must exist since it is shown in the demo movie which comes with VS11.

I don't want wipes or spins or checkerboards, etc. I just want a very smooth fade into the next slide. I can't find such a transition effect. The "dissolve" uses dots. The mask A uses a blur. Where in the world is the smooth fade transition as shown in the demo? I looked everywhere.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You want the cross-fade. It should be located in the Transitions>F/X library. The trial version comes with limited effects and such, but I would think it would include the cross-fade.
