ernative to VS?

I have V7 of VS that I tried to reinstall. I get the error message "Title turned off". Softwrap replied once and that's it. I'm getting no help and I sure don't want to upgrade VS if this is the kind of support I'm getting. Are there any alternatives to VS?

BTW, this was their reply:

This has now been fixed for the final time, please try again.

 Of course there are alternatives.... Search the Internet for "Video Editing software".

I assume that your problems have something to do with purchasing a downloaded version, and loosing the key, or loosing the software itself? (I try to buy "boxed software" whenever possible.)

I can't really recommend any alternatives. I haven't tried them all, I don't know what features are important to you, and it wouldn't be proper to recomend the competition, since this forum is sponsored by Ulead, for the discussion of Ulead products.

I will tell you that the big players are Adobe and Sony. Pinnacle has a program that's somewhat comparable to Video Studio. You could find that information with a 5-minute web search... You can also find free and open source video editing and other digital-video related programs.

I don't know what Softwrap does... It was my impression that they sell the anti-piracy/DRM technology to Ulead. My boxed Ulead software (ordered directly from Ulead) came from Element5, and I've never seen the name "Softwrap" on my computer... I've only read about it here on the forum.

Softwrap is software that is used by various online software resellers to protect their products enabling them to supply copies by way of internet download. It requires a user to enter an unlock code to enable the product to be used. It can provide a limited trial period.
The software concerned is 'wrapped up' inside this protective software,. hence the name softwrap.

Ulead does not use the softwrap method, it has its own built in serial number registration method. Software purchased from the Ulead online store is handled by a firm named 'Element5'

Having said that, there are other online stores that sell Ulead Software and so some of those online stores may be using the softwrap method.

One such store would be tucows

No. I have the license and key. I can only imagine that they (Softwrap) no longer supports the management of V7 - which is BS. I guess I'll need to upgrade from Ulead - I thought that's where I got my download from to begin with. Now the question, will I get the upgrade since my copy is still considered trial even though it's fully paid for.
