I am very new to video editing in general.
I have VS11+.
I find there are only 3 menu's built in to VS (for making a disk).
Each of these menu's have only a space for 4 thumbnails.
I need more thumbnails (actually, I want to use the text menu, but the idea is the same).
Surely there are more than 3 ready made menu's that I can use! Where would I go to get some with more than 3 thumbnail spaces on them??
I found a tutorial for modifying an existing menu here http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=9489
But I cannot make it work.
When I get to step 9, I lose it.
"9- Using the Pick Tool, drag a selection around the entire image so that all layers are selected. Push Control-C to copy all layers, then Control-V to paste a new layer on top.
[/b] When I do that, I end up with an exact copy of each layer sitting atop the original layer. In other words, it just duplicates each layer [/b]
"Delete the existing IMG_TEMPLATE layer and rename the new layer created to IMG_TEMPLATE. "
[/b] What does this mean? The IMG_TEMPLATE is listed as a hidden layer. If I delete it, then how do I rename the new layer? What new layer?? The paste gave me many new layers, each one a copy of the original. I am lost on that one..... I do not know how to select this new layer to rename as img_template [/b]
Use the Transform Tool to resize this layer (while holding Shift to maintain the aspect ratio). "
I guess I need a tutorial that tells me how to use the tutorial.... ;(
But if I just had some additional templates, that would be the easy solution.....
Thanks
menu's

I have VS11+ fully installed and have something 48 templates, most of which are pretty configurable, particularly in the Smart Menu range. I have ten of those template, and 14 Text Menu templates included in the package.
Did you fully install the Extra Content file (if you have the download version, it was the second file, after the main installation/program file)?

Well, what I actually have is the DEMO for VS11+.
I downloaded and installed it again and still I have only 3 menus.
Maybe they only give 3 menus in th demo version but that seems doubtful since you can purchase and activate the demo to the full version.
I don't know. What I do know is that I have only 3 menus and that is pretty useless.
you mention the second content file, but there is only one executable file that is downloaded and it gives no options about installing any extra content. In fact, the only option if you try to re install is that it will kindly uninstall the entire package. no reinstall options at all. Not a well put together program installer it seems.
I have downloaded other Ulead packages and they usually make you download several pieces to get it all, but I can find nothing for VS11.
Unless someone here can point me toward an answer, guess I'll try some other package.
but thanks for trying!

You actually don't activate the demo version. You re-download a full version and install that, so 3 menus in the demo is probably correct.Maybe they only give 3 menus in th demo version but that seems doubtful since you can purchase and activate the demo to the full version.
Useless for what? Demo-ing the product? What I do know is that I have only 3 menus and that is pretty useless.
Ken was under the impression you had the full version. The extra content is only available with the full version.you mention the second content file, but there is only one executable file that is downloaded and it gives no options about installing any extra content.

You only have to view this thread
VideoStudio 11+ preview
to see what is included. I have listed all of the menus, transitions, video filters so on and so forth.
