Newbie to ULead here. I've been playing with the demo for the last month or so, but finally bought it.
My question: I'm working with one video clip, to which I want to add a couple of titles.
I also want to fade my video in from and out to black, but with only one clip on the timeline, I'm unable to add transitions. How can I do that?

Add a black colour block from the 'Color' library at the beginning and end of the video and then put a crossfade transition over the joins and set it to suitable length for the effect you want.
Just drag the block down and put it at the beginning of the video - the video will automatically move along to make room for it - you do not need to make room for it first.
You can do the same with any colour - or even a still - as a background to your titles
In the full version you will also have a transition called 'Fade to Black' for the end.
