Colour problem with capture

i have downloaded the trial of video studio 11.

when i plug my "Syntek STK1150" capture card into my computer and my xbox 360 with the default settings the image was a bit distorted and it was not right. i went through all the PAL settings and i found PAL_M worked but it is not in colour? i am using composite recording.

The usual reason for no responses is because no one knows. All I know is that, unless you live in Brazil, PAL-M will do you no good anyway. It is a TV system only used in that country, and has elements of both NTSC and PAL involved in it. I am not surprised you are only getting BW.

But since I know nothing about your capture card or the XBox, I can suggest no real solution...
