I cannot get Video Capture 6.5 to record the audio from my source as part of the AVI file (or MPG file for that matter). I can hear the audio (either from my attached analog camcorder, or from my TV tuner card) while previewing and while capturing. When I play the file back, either in the Video Capture program, the Video Editor program, or Windows Media Player, I hear NO sound.
I have Windows XP with all the updates, and I have tried Windows Media Player 9 and 10. I have unloaded and re-loaded Media Studio Pro 6.5 - Directors cut and installed all of the patches available.
I suspect it is some type of CODEC problem, but I really don't understand how these are installed or used on my system.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
No Audio in Video Capture 6.5

Use a different device control plug-in
You might try changing the device control plug-in you're using for capture. I use the MS1394, which captures the audio, but I've found that some other plug-ins don't do the audio correctly.
