VS9 fail to burn data onto the disk

Post by musky »

Hi,
I've been using VS9 since it came out and have been very happy with it. My computer died and rebuilt it this weekend. The problem is when i get to the burning stage it errors out and I get the following error ERROR:(0X8004145D) DVDR-DA0-SPTI-2A-02-03-0C-00

I used nero to see if my dvd burner is working and I burned a dvd with no problems.

Thanks
Steve

In reloading your computer, you didn't by any chance install Nero's InCD component, or any other packet writing software from, say, Roxio? Those programs take control of the CD/DVD writers away from other programs.

But when you click on StartSmart, in the screen which appears with all the Nero modules available, is InCD listed?

(It may not be unless you did a Custom install of Nero. It used to install automatically with previous versions, but this problem was discovered, and with Nero 7, InCD is no longer installed unless you actively choose to include it.)

Ah, so it is an older, cut down version... The look in Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs to see if InCD is listed there. When it installs, it installs as a separate program, which can be uninstalled without affecting the rest of the Nero components.
