problem using non-ascii characters in the menus

I am trying to use non-ascii characters for the menu titles, I have the proper fonts installed, have installed the proper language for XP as well, I edit the text and type in the word I want, it shows the word perfectly fine when I am typing it, the moment I finish typing and go to another menu title to change that one, it'll change the first one to either some asian character set, or a lot of "????", or just garbage. Any idea what could be the reason?

by the way, I am using movie factory 6 plus.
