People are mentioning and discussing VS version 9 as if an announcement had been made.
Has one been made? Did I miss something?
I'd been considering starting a thread in which people could express their hopes and wishes for new features in an eventual VS9. If somebody wished for a feature which was already in VS8, then others could tell her/him about that.
So -- is it too late for such a thread? (And would Ulead pay attention??) I know Sony (and previously Sonic Foundry) listened to serious users of Sound Forge for new ideas.

Yes, Keith -- you certainly missed it. Came out a couple of weeks ago, the announcement that is. You could do a search or look at the Ulead news site. But the program itself is to be released, IIRC, at the end of this week i.e. around 1 April. One suspects that it might be too late to call Ulead's attention to anything, except (again) after the even problems and bugs...

There's a link in the "Ulead News" section in the center, near the bottom, of the Ulead web site main page: www.ulead.com

Are the AC-3 and MPEG4 features you mention the same as the plugins for 8?eld33 wrote:We will hear more on.... on or before April 18th? There still maybe a few surprises for those of us who are waiting for the AC3 MPEG4 to be included with 9.0? The suspense is killing me…. Looks like a very good package maybe heading our way

Rendez,
Only the insiders know how they will play this. Maybe there are a few on this board that could tell us....
I think the suprises may be intended for the NAB splash....?
I base my "assumptions" on the way the market in shaping up. Today's video cameras use AC3 and MPEG4. Who knows.... they may only offer the AC3....?
To me it would be a big mistake not to meet industry standards (AC3/MPEG4) when introducing a new product.
Sorry I don't know more, I only picked up this hobby a few weeks ago.
