Filters for video effects

Post by Mike Warren »

I need three filters to create special effects in my documentary film that I cannot find in Studio 10. One is a blue filter that creates the effect of night time, as we often see in movies. The other is the filter that creates the warm golden tone given to many Hollywood films. And last is the filter that will blur or pixel-out the face and identity of certain people in my video. Please, does anyone know where I can get these so I can use them on my Studio 10 project??? Thanks for helping. Mike

To create the first two effects is surprisingly easy.
Place a color block on an overlay track and size it to full screen.
Now use the transparancy levels so that it lets the underlying video show through.

To blur a part of a face you will find some suggestions here:

Can't say I've ever seen a Hollywood movie with a 'warm golden tone' - but I just tried Steves night time suggestion with an orange block and with transparency set to around 50% it has a sort of golden tone to me. - - or is it just my rose coloured glasses.

In fact you can use any colour - the possibilities are endless
