slow playback when after transcoding H.264 to DVD (MPEG-2)

Hi - I just bought the AIPTEK GO HD and it records MOV files in H.264 1280x720 -- AAC, Stereo, 48.000kHz (30fps). The data rate is about 500KB.
I tried importing those into DVD Movie factory 6 plus with the latest hotfix (and without) on two very different machines to create a standard DVD for friends but, outside from the frequent crashes, when the DVD creation completes, the videos (re-encoded in MPEG-2) play at about 1/3 of the normal speed on any DVD player (PC or set top). Any idea what is going on?

Note: I have also installed the absolute latest version of Quicktime.
My systems are both XP Pro SP2
