The borders of the photos don't appear on my TV

Post by armavista »

Good morning,

After burning a DVD of photos and videos, the photos don't appear entirely on the screen (it seems to remove a margin from the photos), and yet it looks perfect on the preview.

It is the same if a switch from 16:9 to 4:3 on the TV.

Is there something to do with the "TV safe area" settings ?

My version is VideoStudio 10 Plus.

Thanks

The reason for the cropping (loss of edges of image) is due to display on a television and this seems to vary with the type of television (CRT or Plasma/LCD - there appears to be more cropping when viewed on a CRT television).
Within VideoStudio there is a TV SAFE area and you can see this when creating TITLES (if you have "Display title safe area in Preview Window" ticked in Preferences - General tab).
There isn't anything that you can do to prevent this small loss.
I have found using a plasma TV that the area lost when viewed on a plasma TV is slightly less than what the title safe area suggests.

For a CRT screen, you should generally work on a 10% loss all round the edges as the 'safe area'.
