Forgive my duh-ness, but so often when researching I end up with more questions than answers.
I noticed that my MF4 saved projects captured in mpeg (having always used the ’LHVD’ audio format), that these always are listing in their folder’s as .MPG files (upper case) and they play using WMP, but w/o audio.
As I don’t readily see any of these video’s audio files, I’m assuming their hidden and protected for whatever reasons, but my not yet having figured out how to not only shrink the vids, but to also hopefully string together other such captured vids (using the “add video files” in the MF4 add/edit media window), I’m not all that certain the resulting DVD’s will contain audio.
I realize that they is another audio format option, but I think the audio format I’ve been using is the default one (best suitable) for use burning best to DVD. Jump right in if I’m off base here.
But of most concern is that I hope to “add video files” (using the MF4 add/edit media window) which I’ve collected and these are mostly .mpg, .MPG, .wmv and .WMV files.
The upper case file types I’m mostly finding them a result of using SUPER to convert them from .flv and .avi video files.
Likely there is a means to check which if any files might not burn with their audios and I’m guessing that if some won’t burn right, then I can use SUPER, something else, or maybe even MF4 to hopefully fix their ‘format’ issues. And I’m guessing that either SUPER and/or MF4 is capable of detecting my vid file’s compatibility, but uncertain if so and how, or how else to go about checking them (even though I also have G-Spot).
I know my projects will take some footwork on my own, and I’m just guessing that it might involve locating the list of compatible codecs, checking that I have them, identifying the video’s listed ranges and likely even resetting or even converting some of the audio’s, so I’m hoping for some shared guru-ness as while I’m somewhat capable at researching, often my research results in more questions than answers.
Any real help appreciated.
