You're in the same boat as me. But guess what I just found out, WinDVD 8 does NOT work with 64 bit Windows Vista operating systems. I paid $70 for a license key for WinDVD 8 Platinum on the basis that InterVideo said (on the system requirements page) that it worked with Windows Vista. So I am currently waiting for a response to my request for a refund.
If I were you, I would request a refund as well (if you bought a license key, like me). Don't even bother cotacting InterVideo customer service for help - they don't respond. Maybe they were all fired or something. My only hope is that someone is still working in the billing department and can organise a refund for me. Otherwise, I will be taking legal action.
See this thread for my story:

Best of luck!

Hmm...I am battling a cold at the moment and wasn't concentrating all that well this morning when I wrote my previous post. Otherwise I would have remembered that my trial version of WinDVD 8 Platinum worked perfectly well on my Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit system for two weeks until the trial period expired. So, I guess I don't really know what they mean when they say that it does not support 64 bit operating systems. BUT I do know one thing for sure, it DEFINITELY cannot be activated at all on my system! It will SAY that it has been activated successfully, but whenever I double click on the icon again it simply says that my trial period has expired and I need to activate or purchase WinDVD 8.MasterYoda wrote:that's a bunch of crap, the HD/BD Advisor says my version of windows is correct.
i sure hope i can get a refund on this.
Either way, I am screwed unless I get my refund.
But, refund or not, SOMEONE's got to do something to get InterVideo to fix this damn activation problem under Windows Vista 64 bit. I will definitely try my best to do so!
And if I EVER manage to find an Australian phone number for InterVideo the I'll be sure to paste it on these message boards so that other users can get through to them as well, and not just send of an email or two to an address with no one at the other end to answer it.
Richard.
