The path for transitions is C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\vfx_plug and I already tried this. It's where also the additional transitions (like Burger) are present.
Doesn't work. Even if I copy there the album.vfx and replace the mask.vfx file with those of VS9, the album is still invisible and the masks are still the original 2.
I also tried to delete the HerEff.dat file from C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0 and force the software to rebuild it, but doesn't work either.
As I have an older pentium 3 as backup pc, I'll try to perform a fresh install of videostudio 11 to this one and check if the transitions there work or not.

Good luck installing VS11 on a PIII --- it is a resource hog, so I don't like your chances...
As for the transitions, it was also my experience when the same thing happened to me in VS10 (no album transitions or a couple of other categories). I tried migrating them from VS9, but it didn't work then either.
I am not recommending this, but it was only by chance that I eventually got all the transitions working in Vs10+. I had to reformat my C:\ drive for an unrelated reason, and when I reinstalled VS10+, they were all there. I can only suspect that there had been some conflict with another program affecting just those transitions and that either I didn't reinstall the offending program, or more likely, since I reinstalled VS10+ as one of the first programs, it had nothing to conflict with and all the transitions took firm hold this time.

Both pcs have been reformatted 2 days ago and XP SP2 has been reinstalled.
I don't think about conflicts because 90% of the apps I use is portable, this mean no install, no DLLs around, no registry keys making XP slower.
Ulead is one of the few which must be installed.
I'll just try to install it on PIII just because on that one there's only operating system and nothing else, I don't pretend to use it on such a slower pc, but just to check if transitions work or not.
I'll let you know in a few days, I'm going away for the weekend and I don't have time right now

I have the download version not the CD version but inspection of my extra content file [uvs11_plus_contentpack_(e).exe] with Winzip shows that it contains a setup.exe
Again looking at my 3 download files I suspect that in your case it will be somewhere on disc 1. Do a search of disc 1 to see if you have more than one setup.exe
Failing that I believe that the CD versions include a repair option. This is activated by running the original setup.exe in the root of the CD.
