Transitions VS9 -> VS11

Post by Bounce »

Hello,

First sorry for my language, I think I'll do many mistakes :D

I used VS9 to do a movie with some transitions. I like a transition in the folder Mask C but in VS11 I can't find this effect, I have only 2 effets in the Mask folder.

Is it possible to import the VS9 transition in VS11 ?

Thanks

VideoStudio 11+ contains 42 Mask transitions
Mask A, Mask A1, Mask A2, Mask A3, Mask A4, Mask A5, Mask A6
Mask B, Mask B1.......
........
Mask F, Mask F1 ..... to Mask F6

Have you installed the extra content?
For a complete list of what you should have please view:

Hi, I checked the extra content CD, but there's no trace of the additional masks. Where are they? I have only 2 now.

Moreover the album transition is completely invisible on my transition menu.
I checked the vfx folder and the file is there, but I cannot see it.

I'm using Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 in english language.

Your help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Edit: I have 2 cds of UVS11, one with the program, one with WinDVD and all the extra videos, music, etc. etc. No trace of additional masks.

Edit2: As I had purchased the version 9 some time ago, I also tried to use the .vfx files for Album and Masks in place of the original ones, but to no avail.

I don't understand all this mess. I purchased the full retail package of v11 and still it isn't complete. What if I didn't have Internet? I would have payed for an incomplete software which is sold as "full retail"? And why doesn't the album transition work, why is it invisible?

I have a download version so things may be a little different with your CD's.
I think you will find the extra content on Disc 1, consider Disc 2 as the extra-extra content.

Users who download get 3 compressed files
uvs11_plus_(e).exe
uvs11_plus_contentpack_(e).exe
uvs11_bonuscd_(e).exe

I think you will find that when uncompressed, the last one
uvs11_bonuscd_(e).exe forms CD 2. the first two form CD 1.

I browsed both cds.
I can assure you the extra content pack isn't there.

My broadband connection is currently down - fault at the Virgin Media End. and so I am currently on the painfully slow modem.

Could you double check this link:
VideoStudio 11+ Preview. and compare my screen shots with your copy of VideoStudio 11+

I would have pasted the image concerning mask Transitions but that particular page is too slow for my modem.

I had a look at your screenshots and all directories (Audio, Image, Setup etc. etc.) are there, with all files listed.
But there's no trace of extra transitions.
I don't need you to post a screenshot, I'd be grateful just for the filename and the path to find it on the cd.

I looked, there isn't a specific one, it must be built into one of the larger files.
try doing this.

1. Substitute your user name in place of mine in this path
C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0

Then rename it
C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0X

2. Restart VideoStudio and it will recreate that diectory including all of the Library manager. It will default back to the Factory Settings.

(You can reverse this process later by deleting the new one and then naming the original back to the way it was)

If this does not cure the problem then run the set up program again where you will see a repair option. Try that.

You didn't read carefully.
I have the full version 2 cds - no album transition and only 2 mask transitions.

I even tried (as I had purchased the full version 9 some time ago) to put the album.vfx and mask.vfx from that version in the vfx plug directory, but still it doesn't work.
Don't understand why, version is higher and transitions are worst.
If it wasn't that I need more overlay tracks, I'd go on using the old version and would have saved money (99 $, damn it!).

Right then, time for a work round.
Import your VideoStudio 9 transitions etc into VideoStudio 11. to do so follow this article:
MF5/MF6/VS9 /VS10: Share Menus, Transitions between products

I haven't had the time to update the tutorial to include VideoStudio 11 but it should be fairly easy to work out what to do from that link. It is simply a matter of finding the appropriate destination to paste the files to, this shouldn't be too hard.
