Mpeg movie clips lose audio timing once joined together

Post by oceanauk »

I have beent trying to tackle this problem for months - I'm using Windows XP and DVD MovieFactory 5 - I've downloaded all the patches too. I have mpeg movie clips which I've imported into moviefactory - all are fine apart from two clips which once I've burned the disk suddenly lose the audio timing on them - ie the mouths of people move before the sound comes out. I've tried various different things, changing CPU to realtime, converting files to AVI none of which has worked. I'm at my wits end. I can't even use the files on their own without joining them because the same thing happens once I burn the disk. Any ideas please?

This has been a nasty-ongoing problem.. :(

Take a look at this post. It's the most encouraging solution I've seen for awhile. Take a look at this post too.

If you search the forum for "sync", you will find lots of discussion and suggestions.

My solution was to buy a special-purpose MPEG editor from Womble. Or, VideoReDo makes a nice simple "cut & splice" MPEG editor if you don't need to do any "real editing".
