Video Filter...ONE setting?

Good Morning. A newbie here. Is there a way to customize VFs with just ONE setting, instead of having to go to the end Key Point of the clip and make the settings the same as the beginning of the clip.
When I make the initial setting then play the clip, the settings change (lighter when using Contrast/Brightness Filter) as it runs to the end. Am I missing something? Thanks!!!!

There appears to be 8 presets, the last 4 seem as though they are static.
Same settings at start as at end.

Select a preset
customize filter
drag the slider from start to end
watch the settings in the three lower boxes.
