cannot play all segments smoothly

Post by sergiobn »

When I import a video from DVD to the program, the video is splitted in several segments and they all appear in timeline.
How do I link these segments in order they all can playback without this pause sintom between them?

The issue is that each "chapter point" becomes a separate Title when importing from the DVD. You could try downloading Ulead's current packages such as DVD MovieFactory or VideoStudio, and use the Import from DVD function that allows you to import one entire Title (without breaking at the chapter points). After importing the mpeg, you can use it in DVDWS.

You need to import the movie/program as one continuous MPEG file. Or, you can use video editing software to join the segments/clips into one continuous file.

Ulead Movie Factory and Video Studio have better tools for importing video from DVD, and they can import a "movie" as a single MPEG file. These two programs work better than any other "DVD to MPEG" I've tried! (Although, there are some DVDs that the Ulead programs have trouble with.) You could also try VOB 2 MPG (Free!!!). I've tried VOB 2 MPG twice. The first time, it worked great and it was very fast. The 2nd DVD I tried it on didn't work at all...

DVD Workshop is not a video editing program... It is a special-purpose DVD Authoring program. It's main purpose is to take a finished "movie" and put that movie on a DVD with optional DVD features such as menus, subtitles, alternate soundtracks, etc. (You can use Workshop to trim-out segments, but ou you cannot use it to join the segments/clips together into a single program.)

NOTE - A DVD can contain up to 99 titles (movies/programs), and each title can have up to 99 chapters. Once you start playing a title, it should play smoothly through all of the chapters in that title.

With Workshop, you can make a playlist to determine what happens at the end of a title, but you cannot make a DVD that will stop at the end of a chapter. So once you start playing a title it will play through all of the chapters to the end of that title.

When watching the DVD, you should not really be aware of the chapter-points unless you select a chapter from a menu. Or, when you hit the >>| or |<< on the remote you will skip to the next (or previous) chapter-point.
