The patch tool
Hello,
One way in which the patch tool is used is to clean up or repair parts of an image. For example if you have blemishes on the forehead of a person in a photograph you can use the patch tool by selecting another area of the face (it creates a selection for you) and then dragging this over to the area you want to be repaired.
In PI there are various clone tools that can be used to achieve the same result.

hi,
according to photoshop help
The Patch tool lets you repair a selected area with pixels from another area or a pattern. Like the Healing Brush tool, the Patch tool matches the texture, lighting, and shading of the sampled pixels to the source pixels. You can also use the Patch tool to clone isolated areas of an image.
