Hi all, I did do a search, & got 2340 results with the 1st few pages yielding no answer.
My PC, an HP dv9225US, AMD X2 CPU, 2 GHZ, 2GB RAM
The disc burner, DVD portion max write, 8X,
The OS, Vista Ultimate 32 bit,
The DVD's, 8X capable.
The issue, using Nero Express (which is limited & is why I'm trying MF) I can get 8X burn speeds.
Using MF6 , even with the settings at max, I only get 4X burn speeds.
Anyone have a "fix" for this or know why MF is so slow?
Thanks.
Movie Factory 6 burn speed question
While you're waiting for someone with MF6 I'll do some guessing... maybe it'll help.
Compared to older products, I assume you do not need the Ulead CD/DVD Burning Pack update because you have a brand new product, and the update (8x DVDRW, 16x DVD) is from 2005!
Make sure to disable any packet writing or other background services from Nero that will block MF access to the burner.
BTW, are you sure the speed is incorrect? Is MF showing you the wrong number for speed or is it just taking longer than expected?
If you burn a small DVD (about 1GB or less) it should normally be padded with an extra long lead-in for DVD player compatibility... which takes time to complete. I know Nero normally does this unless disabled. I am not sure if MF has been adapted to do this too (but it should).
Or possibly a MF bug on Vista, or MF doesn't like your burner model.
Tip: you can just "burn" to a folder with MF (which is a good idea anyway) and burn a DVD-Video disc from that folder with Nero. This is how I've always done it. I never burn with MF because of lacking detailed options (like the above section).
