How do I install a downloaded task?
I downloaded two PI12-compatible tasks from the Photoimpact Resource Center: Border & Shadow (bordershadow.tsk), and Ulead's Color Sketch (colorsketch.tsk). I placed them in the task folder thinking they would automatically install themselves into PI12, but no luck. An installation tutorial link on the page only shows how to create/record macros, not how to install the tasks. The PI12 Help file was not helpful. I'd appreciate any assistance in installing those task files. Thanks.

If you care to read the tutorial linked to in the PIRC post you will find that it does give instructions on how to import tasks. http://wwell.net/tutorials/pi8/qcpbasics/ is the tut in question, I think, and the passages on Importing/Exporting tasks do explain how to go about doing that.
For starters, the downloaded tasks are zip files and need to be extracted first.

Thank you for your prompt response, Heinz-Oz. First things first: I had already extracted the zip file contents to get to the tsk files, and I had already read the tutorial more than once before posting. As a PI12 newbie, my problem with that tutorial is that it appears to be outdated compared to what I was seeing on the PI12 interface. However, after doing some hunting around the Task tab interface I found the Import button I was looking for.
Unlike the instructions, I had to click a small checkmarked button on the top left of the Task tab palette, which exposed the "Task Menu Commands" tooltip, which contained the Task Manager menu item, which contained the import interface I was looking for. Thanks for motivating me to look further.
Funny though that the term "Task Manager" was not listed anywhere during my Help file search.

That's just the way it is
With ULEAD releasing a new version every year or so and some of the later versions, namely PI 11 and PI 12 changing the user interface extensively, it becomes almost impossible for tutorial writers to catch up. Nothing that a bit of lateral thinking can't fix as you have proved yourself.
Glad you worked it out. Good luck.
