I have bought installed DVD MovieFactory 6+ on a XP platform.
I can import quicktime movies (.mov) without issue (play them in preview), and make a good selection of a number of .mov files together. When it comes to burning a DVD - everything goes fine. The project finishes - just when I play the DVD (on the computer or on a DVD player) - the sound form the intro is fine - but the movie sound track is just a hiss.
I have tried the instructions of switching on / off the MPEG sound - and switching to sound on LPCM - however this seems to make no difference.
The movie file is produced by a pentax digital still camera.
Any suggestions...
Thanks very much for your help.
PS
I have got a DVD to play after having been burned from Adobe premiere pro - no issues with .mov and sound. Just seems to be happening in DVD MovieFactory 6 plus?

I would suggest forcing MF to convert the audio. Don't have MF6, but you can try the suggestions for older MF versions:
1. Uncheck "Do not convert compliant MPEG files".
2. Check "Treat MPEG audio as non-DVD compliant".
3. Click the MPEG settings then "Customize".
4. Go to the "Compression" tab and change the audio format to LPCM.
This will make MF convert the audio to LPCM, instead of passing it through if it believes it to be DVD-compliant.
Since LPCM is uncompressed, it will need more space. The next step would be to choose Dolby audio in the project settings.
Also search for quicktime AND audio.

thanks for the reply - but had already tried this...
Thanks very much for the reply. I had acutually seen this suggested solution on another posting - and had tried this previously with no luck.
MF6+ has the option for LPCM - and I understand this is checked when there is no DVD support of MPEG.
At the beginning of the DVD the intro. music plays fine either with LPCM of MPEG, its just the audio from the video portion that comes out with a white noise.
Any other suggestions?
