MSP 8 will not load file

I created a wedding video (3 days of editing) and was viewing the file before rendering it when the application stopped responding. I rebooted and the file will load up to 75% then stops responding. I defraged all (3)hard drives but MSP (version 8.10.0039.0) still loads only 75% of the wedding file then stops responding. Other files created will open correctly. My OS is Win XP SP2, 2Gigs Ram, 500GB of storage. Has any one experienced this before and found a way to restore the files? Thank You

Do you have any of the back up files created during editing? Your current file is corrupted and may not be salvageable. MSP 8's auto save function will automatically keep backup files in your working directory These will be with the name you saved it under initially and an automatically incremeted number added. There should also be folder with the name you gave to your project which may hold the backups. It also pays to periodically save the project under alternating names.

There are many files in the folder where I haved saved the file(s) during editing. I have tried opening several of them but with the same results
