I've had 3 failures while trying to install VideoStudio 11+ TBYB. The program seems to install properly until a little window asks me to wait while AVControlSDK is installed.
This little window remains on the screen for a couple of minutes and then it's replaced by another little window which says: Setup - A fatal error has occurred while installing. When I click OK, the install program stops abruptly.
After each failure I've had to manually weed all the Ulead data out of the registry and manually weed all the Ulead files and folders out of the file system before it will let me try again; this, because the program doesn't appear in any of the common "uninstall" locations. There are also no start menu links or desktop shortcuts yet. I've tried the install with and without my security suite active (Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0) and the results remain the same.
I can't even contact Tech Support 'cause I can't start the program to register it or find a serial number.
This isn't a good start for someone who just disposed of a paid and registered version of Roxio Media Creator 9 because it was so buggy. I was hoping VideoStudio would free me from aggrivation, not compound it.
Oh, Windows XP SP-2 with all the latest patches, Pentium 4, 2 gig of ram, Radeon 9600 Pro, WD Raptor SATA RAID array w/ lots of room.
