I just installed MF6P on my computer running Win XP Media Center 2005.
(Was running Movie Factory 5 previously with no problems)
Seems that when I select an AVI and some WMV files, it will activate on the taskbar "ffdshow video decoder". Once I render the movie and play it back from the newly created DVD, it has color streaks throut the entire movie.
If I get an MPG movie, it works just fine; that "ffdshow video decoder" is not on the task bar and there are no color streak in the movie.
Thanks for a great forum and any assistance you can give.
Movie Factory 6 Plus
Your post below:
When you load in an avi file that may be encoded in the Xvid codec the MF6 will use what the windows system has registered/related to this codec. Same with Divx, WMV files.
You may need to un-install whatever program installed the ffdshow codec and re-install the windows media encoder and windows media player 9 or 10 (whatever your using).
I think your file/codec associations are causing a conflict in your windows system. I'm guessing you installed some other video apps (freeware maybe) or codec packs that can do this.Seems that when I select an AVI and some WMV files, it will activate on the taskbar "ffdshow video decoder". Bret469, what Steve is referring to is your initial choice of subject: 'Movie Factory 6 Plus', which shows up in the list of topics in the DVD MovieFactory Forum, and which gives other members no indication whatsoever of what your problem is.Bret469 wrote:Did you not read the previous posts in this string?

Much more helpful to other members (and ultimately to you!) would have been a subject heading like "Colored streaks in MF6 output when 'ffdshow video decoder' activated".
