3D and albums effects do not work under vista with VS11+
I upgrade from VS10 to VS11 when I upgraded my system to Vista and am disappointed that cute effects as album and flying cube etc do not work under Vista (ultimate 64bits)
VS11 is said to be Vista compatible. Is this a problem that will be corrected soon? or did I something wrong when installing?

From the Ulead website:
Some 3D transition effects that won be supported on Vista are removed from current release, including: Flying Board, Flying Cube, Flying Flip, Flying Fold, and Folding Box. Some templates under "Album", "Flash Light" and "Mask" transition effect are also not supported.

Hello Jeff,
I am sorry but I bought my release of VS11+ online by Ulead on Tue 5/22/2007. It still contains the effects in question. I therefore did believed this was a problem with VS10 only and am very disappointed. I could simply have kept using my VS10+ with the vista patch on and with the same lack of effects.

Version 11 still contains the effects in question because some people will still use v11 on an XP machine, where they will still work. They will not work on a machine running Vista. It is a Vista issue, not VideoStudio.

I am running WinXP SP2, Ulead Video Studio 10+, I have not had any Album Transitions since upgrading from VS9. I was hoping that if I upgraded to 11+ the album transitions would be available, so I downloaded the Trial version of VS11.....still no album transitions. It is a Vista issue, not VideoStudio.

I was referring to the quote from Ulead that specifically mentions certain transitions/effects not working with Vista.Rascal wrote:Black Lab wroteI am running WinXP SP2, Ulead Video Studio 10+, I have not had any Album Transitions since upgrading from VS9. The fact that your album transitions don't work is a problem that some users have (although mine work fine, albeit slow), for reasons that no one knows. However, the OP questioned why his certain effects don't work when using Vista, hence my reply about it being a Vista issue. Your problem is not related (IMHO).

I installed today VS11+ on my XP computer. The effects in question do not work beter on XP than on Vista. This is not a Vista issue.
It had to be mentionned to the consumers but is not, not on Corel.com and not on Ulead.com. This doesn't give the customer I am a good feeling about the new Ulead/Corel policy. We have got less workable transitions with V11 than I had with V9.

THIS IS A VISTA ISSUE:I installed today VS11+ on my XP computer. The effects in question do not work beter on XP than on Vista. This is not a Vista issue.
And that was the OPs question. Please don't muddy the waters of this thread with your unrelated problem. Some 3D transition effects that won't be supported on Vista are removed from current release, including: Flying Board, Flying Cube, Flying Flip, Flying Fold, and Folding Box. Some templates under "Album", "Flash Light" and "Mask" transition effect are also not supported.
If you would like help with your problem, or would just like to vent, please start another thread.

For what it is worth, I just ran an experiment with the full version of VS11+ running on my Vista Home Premium laptop. I took at random seven of the sample video clips which come with VS. Put them in the timeline, and inserted all six of the available Album transitions which also came with VS11+.
I then rendered the clips into a single mpeg-2. As usual with the Album transitions, the rendering of them took much longer than the rendering of the video itself.
However, at the end, they had all rendered perfectly, and the mpeg-2 played them all back without a problem.
So I think the Ulead warning was really to the effect that those Album and other transitions which would not work with Vista had already been removed before VS11+ was released. And the corollary is that the transitions that ARE there, should all work...

When I saw that quick time manually must be downloaded and installed for smartsound to be working, I install the applications of the bonuspack I first didn't intent to use. Who knows...
After installing WinDV8, included in the bonuspack of VS11+, all the transitions seems now to work in VS11, included the flying and albums transitions.
