About a year ago, I had a P3/1GHz with Windows Me and I ENJOYED recording TV shows from cable with Hauppauge PVR250, and edited those MPG2 files with Ulead MovieFactory 2.5 for DVD burn.
Today, I have two PCs with Windows XP - P4/3GHz and Athlon64/3200+, and I have problems with video pixelation and audio-sync in both PCs using the same Ulead MovieFactory 2.5 (and 3.0 also).
I talked to Ulead Tech Support and they recommended (a)de-check a box "do not convert compliant MPG files", (b)run msconfig and disable all startups. This solves the pixelation problem - while adding a tremendous amount of extra time; but it does not solve the audio sync problem.
Could it be that XP takes up too much "whatever" (compared with Me) as to create this problem? If anyone have solutions to these problems, please share with me and please send me a direct e-mail copy dglwow@earthlink.net
Secondly, what other program(s) in the marketplace that you use or would recommend in place of Ulead MovieFactory - like an easy-to-use freeware or shareware? All I need is to do some small editing with those big MPG2 files from PVR250 and convert it to VOB files for burning.
Thanks much in advance.
George.
Problem with Ulead MovieFactory 2.5/3
I have had very good succes using VideoReDo to edit my files. Free trial available.

I have the PVR250 and have used both DMF2 and 3 with no audio OOS since. I have "Do not convert compliant..." checked and it still works well.
