Applying jpeg to sphere

How do I apply this http://gasa.dcea.fct.unl.pt/carita/text ... xt-010.jpg to a sphere without distortion Each time I try the countries merge into each other. I have fiddled with the x y options but to no avail.Thanks in advance for any advice.

The following texture settings seemed to work ok for me:

Wrap Mode: spherical
Wrap Normal: Z-

Mapping:
Position Texture: x:0 y:0 z:0
Rotate Texture: x:0 y:0 z:180
Resize Texture: x:100 y:100

Worked perfectly .Thank you. I had not changed the mapping position to 0 0 0.
