P-10 Not installing

I have Photoimpact 10 that I love dearly. I purchased a new computer with Vista Home and can not get it to install on the new computer. Can someone please help me?

The easiest would be to go back to WIN XP or to upgrade to PI 12. As far as I know PI 10 does not run on Vista.

PI10 doesn't run on Vista. The OS that supports PI10 are: Windows 98 SE, 2000, Me, or XP.

You need to upgrade your copy of PI or revert back to XP.

Great, that's just what I didn't want to hear. Was just thinking of buying a new Laptop but they have all Vista and some pre-installed office programs. I won't have internet on this new laptop, so can't download. That means I will have to buy the full version of PI 12, right? In the shops I could only find upgrades in German, at the moment I have the english PI 10. What happens if I just buy the upgrade? I guess I will have the same problem with Photoshop CS, Autocad and all my other not so cheap programs.
I'm also a blond woman, so won't know how to get rid of Vista and insatll XP. Has anybody a good idea of what to do?
