VS11+ won't save changes in DVD menu

Post by lameco »

I just loaded VideoStudio 11+ Full version on my Dell Laptop. I am working on a project. If I make changes to the DVD menu and then back out I get the normal Saving status bar. If I go back into the disc settings to work more on the DVD menu and then burn my previous changes are not there. They are not saving. I am using Vista so I tried again using "Run As Administrator". I also then tried a third time with compatibility for XP SP2 turned on. I do not get any other errors except for some freezing when changing the thumbnail for menu.

I have been using VideoStudio since version 3. Any suggestions? :D

After you back out and you get the Saving status bar, go to File > Save and save the project.

Yes -- as far as I was aware, the automatic saving which occurs when you close down the burning module is to some separate file, but is not to the project file. So you have to do a separate save manually.

I think this was also the case with previous versions as well. But unfortunately I don't know what that separate file is called or where precisely it might be stored. Or indeed, whether it is only temporary and is deleted when VS is closed down. But someone else might know.

It would also be good to know if that file is in any way associated with the auto-save file created in the editor, which is also separate from the normal manual save of the project file.

I did do File -> Save after exiting the burning module. Each time I tried I did the File > Save for my project. This feature has always worked in the previous versions of VS that I owned. If I can't get this fixed I may have to take Vista out of the picture and reload Windows XP SP2 onto my laptop.
