Different PAL video standards - does it matter?

Hi,

I've just installed DVD Movie Factory 5 on my PC, running XP SP2. When asked during the install process I entered country (Finland) and PAL. This has caused MF to preselect PAL B and G, which are what Finland uses. But I'm capturing video from a VCR bought in UK, which therefore uses PAL I, and the tapes I'm capturing are PAL I tapes (mainly).

I don't believe that the difference in the video standards should have any effect on the quality of my captures, but I'd like to be assured of this, if possible, by someone who knows more about the technicalities than I do (which should include pretty well anybody!).

In the past I've found that it isn't possible to record PAL B/G live broadcasts with a PAL I VCR. That's no longer of any importance however, now that all I'm doing is playing-back video-tapes which are already recorded - in order to convert them into DVDs. My capture device is a Terratec Grabster AV 400.

Can anyone guide me, please?
