problem by rendering

Post by Erwin P. »

Hello,

I'm a new user of your Forum and I'm from Holland. Ik have made a movie with Ulead VideoStudio 8 and want to save this project into another movie-format, such as avi or mpeg. When the rendering starts it's ok, but after 10% or somewhat later it turns black and quits rendering. I tried a couple of times, once I've got the following error: Not enough storage.

Does anyone can help me with this problem??

the movie is 45 minutes long with some photo's and music. the C:\ is 30 GB large of which 8 GB is free. The location of the movie after rendered is the D:\ where there is 70GB free space.

thank you, Greeting Erwin Posthumus

If you are trying to render on the C: drive then 8GB is probably not enough. Try freeing up some space on your drive or change the working directory to your D: drive where 70GB should be enough (but that's not a whole lot for video editing either).

Okay, thank you a lot. I'm going to try your answer. One other question:

Do you know how I can minimalize the size of the output-movie??

You can reduce the bit rate, but that will also reduce the quality. If you are using LPCM audio you can switch that to Dolby, which is more compressed but (usually) still gives good quality.

What is the bit rate of your video?

I think is 't the following (it is in Dutch unfortunately):

Gegevenssnelheid: 1168 kbps
Video: 24 bits, 320 x 240
Audio: 11025 Hz, 16 Bits Mono

OK, we may be on to another problem. From the bit rate and frame size it looks like it is a highly compressed format from the Internet (wmv, divx, etc.).

What, exactly, is it?

I suspect it is more likely to be VCD mpeg-1...

That would be the wrong resolution for VCD mpeg-1 -- it would have to be something like 352x240 (NTSC).
