VS9 - Fail to Load Library Error

Post by Jim Viola »

I was hoping it did not come to this but I am desperate to fix this problem and finish the DVD project I am working on.

My system is described as follows:
Win XP
1.6 GHz, P4, 1.25 GB RAM
Drives (Just defragged all):
Master 1 (C)- 70GB with approx 30% free (Just defragged)
Master 2 (D) & Sec 2 (E) - Both 120GB with around 15% free

My current VS9 project is around 50K, 36 minutes - 224 Audio, 1738 Video rate, low end NTSC DVD format. It is mostly photos, color slides with text and music. A few video clips.

I am sorry but I am not in front of my computer right now but wanted to get this question to you.

When I attempt to create the Video file (same as project), around 5 minutes into the rendering, it stops and I get an error [19151:3:3]:

Failed to Load Library. I had just recently tried to create a working folder on my C drive, with the most space. VS9 and my project are on drive E.

I have been having memory/resource type problems and I am sure it is related.
I read through around 10-20 pages in the Forum looking for answers yesterday and thought I had it licked when I cleaned out files and defragged. The other problems I have had have to do with sometimes getting a message that VS crashed or needs to close. When I look at my task Manager, I notice that VS9 application size grows and grows to sometimes over 1GB before crashing. It was around 800K when the Fail to Load Library error came up. This Application file size creep does not seem normal.

Windows Explorer is also crashing although it looks as though it recovers.

I will be indebted to anyone who can help me out here as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Are you using a TBYB (try before you buy) version?

Thanks for your reply and for your research. I have a full version of VS9 from a local retailer, not a TBYB (try before you buy) version?

I had seen most of those posts and have been experimenting with getting rid of the 3D transitions, especially the 3D Flying Flip.

I think I may have resolved my problem.

I found also, as many have said, that you cannot defrag your hard drive enough and also turn off unneeded programs and resources.

Thanks again.
