Movie on 2nd display (projector), controls on primary

I'm looking for a product to play DVDs that will project the movie on the secondary display (projector) and let me operate the controls on the primary display (monitor).

Can WinDVD do this? If not, do you know a product that can?

So far everything I've tried requires me to set the projector to be the primary display in order to convince the movie to display on the projector. I can move (mouse it) the player window to the secondary display but as soon as it gets on the secondary display, the video content of the player gets blanked out. You just see the player window on the projector screen with a black presentation, but the audio plays just fine.

I'm hoping for a better solution than that. Our projector is used for a lot of things besides movies and we don't want to be switching the primary display back and forth all the time.
