I do not think DVR-MS is been supported in DVDMF.
And, usually in DVR-MS it will have some content protection mechanism so you might not be able to import the DVR-MS video into video editors or DVD authoring programs to re-edit or burn it to DVD.

How come Sonic can support it then for creating DVDs?

Also VideoReDo will have support of editing DVR-MS files and conversion to standard MPEG files very soon.

Hi, Phd, thanks for sharing that information.
However, according to the information from Microsoft, DVR-MS does have some content protection mechanism in it:
"The ability to access *.dvr-ms files by using DirectShow depends on the copy protection policy set by the content owner and/or broadcaster. Microsoft Windows XP Media Center determines the copy protection policy by reading the broadcaster's copy protection flag (CGMS-A). If the content owner and/or broadcaster has set the policy to protect the content, playback will be restricted to the Media Center PC used to record the content."
According to the information in XPMCE.com, only unprotected DVR-MS files can be used to burn DVDs.

I think Ulead might support this format in the future. You can make an suggestion to Ulead about this DVR-MS support.
BTW, in DVDMF 4 it supports to record TV programs from DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting for Television) devices.

More programs other than Media Center Edition are creating dvr-ms files. Meedio (www.meedio.com) is making them also, unencrypted.
There is MPEG2 in there with some metadata. Can my Ulead products get at the MPEG2 if they are unencrypted? I don't want to ditch my ulead products for VideoReDO
