Auto Music Causes VS8 to Crash

I have newly installed VS8 and have been learning the various functions while creating and editing a project.

I have noticed that when adding audio, and I click the 'Auto Music' tab in order to import music files, VS8 crashes.

I managed to get music files from my PC by using the audio library tab on the right, then dragging onto the music track.

I tried re-installing Full Spectrum 22k then installing quicktracks from command line with the '/s' switch, but no joy.

Any other suggestions? Sounds like a program link is missing.

Smartsounds depends on QuickTime -- it is possible that your QT installation is damaged.

QuickTime seems to be OK in that it launches and plays. To be sure I installed the latest QT update.

I also installed all of the VS8 patches, which I had not done. The last of these installed Smart sound updates, and this seems to have done the trick!
