Free Movie Maker for a school lab?

Post by daddog »

Hello gents,

Does anyone know of a simple but worth while movie maker program that will work with Windows 2000?

At our small school we have 10 computers in our lab, but all have Windows 2000 and Windows Movie Maker only works with XP/Vista. I would like to teach my students the first steps in making movies/commercials but can't without any software.

No, I can't just go out and buy Ulead for all the systems, or I would. I really enjoy using VS9 to make our year end DVD, but our small school does not have that kind of money to put it on all our systems.

Thanks in advance. :)

Seems it would be a better idea (and cheaper?) to upgrade the OS on the pcs and use the free Movie Maker.

Does Microsoft give a discount for educational institutions (I think Ulead does, BTW)? If not, grants are available. Also, check with your local chamber of commerce and see if they have an educational foundation that can contribute to your school. Our's does.
