Please help with free download activation of PI 12

Hi,
I'm very new to PI 12. I just downloaded the trial version and it's telling me "Limit users cannot try this product. You can use normally after successful activation."
How do I activate. An email was sent to me after downloading but with no activation key.
Please help!!!! I really want to try out this product.

Even though you do not state your OS or anything else about your system, let me guess... You are using some flavour of VISTA, right ?? Welcome to the WOW experience, sorry, no offence intended. PI 12 doesn't play well with Vista although some people claim it does work once you apply the Vista patch. Unfortunately for you, patches do not work with trial versions.

I was able to get the free trial of PhotoImpact 12 to work with Vista. After you install the program, and it gives you the limit error mentioned, you need to right click on the desktop icon for PhotoImpact. Then, go to Properties, and click on the Compatibility tab at the top. 1) Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and make sure it says "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" in the box below it. 2) You also need to check "Run this program as an administrator" in the Privilege Level box of the same tab. Click apply and ok. Then when you double click the desktop icon for PhotoImpact, one of those Vista program permission boxes will come up. If you hit "allow," PhotoImpact will start right up.

It seems to running fine so far-- I'll have to get more into the program before I know for certain, but it's a start.

I had the same problem as babygirl (trying to activate a trial version of PI 12 on a Vista computer). I tried N0-1's suggested solution, and it worked! Thank you so much.
