I'm wondering if the fact that I set my project properties for mpg as
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo
I do this because I render out to mpg before burning to DVD - however....I use some avi video files in the same project. Therefore I mix file types in the same project.
the panning/zooming jerkiness is on still images and not on video - I just wonder if 11+ can handle the avi files, with the mpg settings? In projects I've done in VS9 - I've used these same settings and had both Mpg video, avi video and jpgs all in the same project and never had a problem When I insert the first video file and I get the message, "do you want your project settings to match the video files settings" - I just say no. I don't care much about "smart render".
just a thought - it's just bizarre that most images pan and zoom fine, and some jerk. I happens most when I zoom in and out ( with or without panning) the box grows bigger, with just a starting point and an ending point...no intermediate stops, yet it will just jump a little as it grows. I know I'm doing the process correct because in VS9 the same pictures setting rendered smoothly.
I'm happy to email an example for anyone who'd like to see it.
thanks.

Hi,
I confirm: the panning/zooming jerkiness is on still images.
This issue is on preview and on TV dvd film. Its looks like:
- VS make zoom (in or out) and picture going down 2 pixels and come back to original position. Just i see "jumping" picture one or twice for 0,5sec per 7 seconds zooming period. I tried disable logarytmic function. Try it please with VS Tools->Film Creator-> with 300 Photos. This "jumping" is for 40% Pictures in Projekt. In VS9.0 there is no problem. Windows is fresh. I made new installation.
I have VS11.5+ (with upgrade). Is there any solution for this?
thx, Amzam

No jerkiness on pan/zoom w horizontal images only on verical images. My solution has been to convert vertical images to horzontal. I do this in photo shop. First I increase the width of the canvas then I resize the image bact to 720 x 480. Basically you create a banded canvas first without ulead insering the borders. Its a pretty easy solution to an annoying problem that I didn't have in earlier versions. Hopefully the problem is resoved inX2.
