Freezing atfer 24 seconds of recording. 75mb

Post by neilalp »

I have an issue where the video capture program freezes after 24secs of hdv video which is 75mb. However on my laptop this issue doesn't happen. The only difference is I have Windows Media center edition on my desktop and the laptop has XP professional and 512mb desktop and 1gb laptop. Is there a fix so i can use my desktop to capture more than 24secs of hdv video?

Thanks

Do you think double posting increases your chances of a reply? 8) The only thing you have achieved now is that we have to guess which program you are using to capture. Make sure you have not set a time or file size limit for your captured file.

Heinz,

I don't believe I did anything wrong. I own Media Studio 8 and which the video capture program didn't work so I downloaded movie factory trial to give that a try. So there is no need to guess which program I'm using as I'm trying both and I would guess different people read different programs hence why I posted in each of the proper forums.

I have set in both programs the capture to Auto with no time or or file limit.

I suspect you may have some conflicting files in the common files directory of the ulead products (you have more than one ulead product installed).
Usually installing the latest patch for MSP8 will correct this problem because those programmers seem to be aware of this possible conflict. But, MF6+ was released after the latest patch for MSP8. I think re-installing the latest patch for MSP8 will correct a capturing problem when using MSP8 (with the latest patches). Then you will be able to capture in MSP8 again (if you could before). Not sure about MF6+.

I can duplicate your problem I think. It's confusing when these programs are sharing common files.
I have a question on this, did MSP8 with all the latest patches capture HDV correctly BEFORE installing MF6+?
If yes, try re-installing the latest patch for MSP8 which should correct the files in the common files directory (I hope). Then you should be able to capture HDV video again in MSP8 (with the latest patches installed).
If this doesn't work there may be another work around. I'm sure sure how ulead writes the MSP8 script file though. If the files in the common files directory are dated newer then the MSP8 patch files it may not overwrite them, If the files are older then it would overwrite them to the correct files. If after installing the latest MSP8 patch you can capture in MSP8 then it did replace the files with the correct ones.
