Have you looked at the the user manual (page 47 for VideoStudio 10)?
It suggests that you -
click Options to open a menu for customizing more capture settings.

Also view this excellent tutorial -

Sorry but you didn't mention that you had tried that and with only 2 posts I assumed that you are a newbie and many newbie's ask questions which can be easily answered (as they haven't looked very far).
Also what version of VS are you using (you need to enter as much information as possible otherwise it is difficult to suggest answers).
Also why are you trying to capture to DVD (file format)? DVD format is a compressed format and so when you render you may loose some quality.

I have VS 9, vs 10 and now VS 11

Sometimes I work with uncompressed material, but for archive purposes I use DVD

I am Ulead user from approximately 2004 or 2005

I know to setup VS 9 and VS 10, but I simply didn¡¦t find any option to make my own template in VS 11 ¡V I even try to modify some templates in its installation directory. In help there is not even a word about that :( like I was expected ¡V these days help don¡¦t worth to much (my opinion).

Any tip how to set up something I already mentioned? Is there any way to set up those templates ¡V remove some which I didn¡¦t need or add new which I needed. I don¡¦t get it ¡V How somebody can allow to offer something like that ¡V to make some templates and to think that nobody wouldn¡¦t need anything else!

PS I am sorry because I didn¡¦t offer more data in my first post.

Hi

I have just booted V 11 trial for the first time. And do indeed find the capture templates a bit lacking.

If you change the Project Properties to match your capture properties.
6550 con, Lpcm etc

Go to the capture page

Select Mpeg as the Capture Format

Select Options¡XVideo Properties¡XTemplate Tab¡XAdvance

Select--Template As¡XProject Template

Should reflect the Project Properties.

Once the Project Template has been selected as the capture properties, changing the project properties will change the capture settings.

Hope this Helps

Hi

Glad that worked, it was an option with the earlier VS versions, but as you could change the capture settings, wasn't realy needed.

One thing:-

Why are you using Lpcm audio.

I thought this to be Ntsc (US) standard. Very heavy at 1500 + kbps, when you could use Mpeg/Digital Dolby at 200 + kbps

Saves a lot of space on disc for extra video

Just a thought

When I am making a DVD I lower that to 256 kbps which is very acceptable :)

I am curious ¡V Where disappeared that slider of quality percents ¡V If that exists some days, where is now ¡V And if it is removed how was set for all those templates (my included)

Hi

The Quality/Speed slider can still be found when setting your Project Properties
Or
Share Create Video File-Custom

But when setting your capture properties there appears to be NO manual option.
Only preset templates seem to exist.

I must admit that I never changed the slider and always used the default settings, so to remove the option, for me, would not be a loss.
