Camera Not Recognised

Post by arrow »

I've downloaded the trial version of Photo Express 6 to use with my new Fuji FinePix S5700 camera, unfortunately the camera isn't recognised when I click on the Get Photo button.
When I click on Get Photo, then select Get From Camera a message box pops up that says "There is no digital camera connected to the system". The camera is connected properly and being recognised by the Fuji FinPix Viewer software.
Has anybody had any experience of this and is there a fix?

Maybe your camera software doesn't allow PEX to see your camera. Why do you insist on using PEX to get the images off your camera?

You can use the software bundled with your camera to import the images and then do whatever you like with them in PEX. I have two CANON cameras and always use the supplied program ZoomBrowser to import the images from my camera. After that I use these images in PhotoImpact, PhotoExplorer, MediaStudioPro and DVD MovieFactory. No need to capture theimages within the program you want to use.

There is no need to do it but, it would make things simpler and qicker. I like my computer not to be cluttered up with useless software, I have one program to watch and listen to my media files, I have one program to acces the web, one to manage my emails, I don't want to have half a dozen to to manage my photos
Besides, have you ever used FinePix Viewer? it's rubbish, it doesn't even support the lossless rotation of images

If I can get PEX 6 to work with my camera I will buy it, if I can't I'll have to look for something else.

I don't think it's an issue with PEX. I don't use PEX because it is limited in what it can do and the PhotoExplorer software I get with PI is so much better but, if Windows can see your cam, so should PEX.
