Unspecified error when rendering project with "split au

Thanks videoman for the quick relpy - hopefully this edit makes things a bit clearer.

Nature of the problem :

When I render a project with only one clip (details below) it renders fine until I use "split audio". Then when rendering I get an unspecified error [17113:4:1]
