Can anyone help me figure out this problem: Video Studio 8 thinks that the mpeg files I import are much larger than they realy are. It will therefore not attempt to burn a DVD even when it should fit.
At first, I had reasonable success with the software, but then this problem cropped up. Reinstalling the software did not help. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks George,
The mpegs were created by ADS Tech Capture Wizard, capturing VHS through The ADS tech USB device.
Wanting to fit 3:20 on a DVD, I captured at 3.0 mb/sec, variable bit rate.
The resulting files add up to 4.2 Gig of mpeg.
All of this used to work fine, and now doesn't. I can't figure it out!
Regards,
Bruce

rt-click on the files, and list their properties (post the properties here).
Also, what are your project properties (if they don't match, then re-encoding will be needed -- for instance, you capture NTSC, but create PAL Project).
If you are creating an NTSC DVD, then do you have the option to "treat mpeg audio as non-compliant" checked
If so, what audio format are you using in your project (LPCM audio will cause space requirements to increase if you captured mpeg audio in your captured mpegs).
