Screen resolution too small

I just downloaded VideoStudio 11 trial. When I try to run it, I get "Cannot initialize application. The screen resolution to small t play video. The screen resolution must be set to at least 1024x768" At the bottom right of dialog box these numbers are displayed [15035:1:1].

I have a wide screen laptop and have tried both 1280x768 and 1440x900 resolution. What can be done?

I have vista home premium.

I have the full version of VS11+ running on a widescreen laptop with Vista Home Premium. It has an NVidia Ge7600 graphics card, and I have the screen resolution set to 1440 x 900. It works fine.

Have you tried actually setting it to 1024 x 768, just to see what happens?

I found out that the error message was misleading. When I changed the color depth from 32 o 16 bits, it worked.
