Error when installing Ulead Photoimpact v12 on Vista
Install Error
If you try to install Ulead Photoimpact v12 or any Updates/Addons you might recieve an install error: (Error Code 5009: 0X8007000e)
Fix:
1: Right click on the install icon and select "Properties".
2: Then select the "Compatibility Tab"
3: Tick the box "Run as Windows XP Service pack 2".
4: Click "Apply" at bottom of window.
done
This might work for other versions too, or even other programs.

Hi nostromo, and all,
I too have been having difficulties loading PI12 onto my new laptop with the Vista platform. We are running on vista Home Premium.
We sucessfully loaded it up and all was working fine, very pleased with ourselves. then the webcam went silly and stopped working. so we had to do a complete systems restore and of course had to reload everything once more. All the other programs went on ok, except PI12.
The main program was fine, it was the uip12_contents_e that was the problem. We found the patch on the web site, but that didn't work either. Kept getting error message (-5009: 0x8002801D) which is different from the one you have. Tried your method, no result, felt like
We were just about to gve up when my husband tried going to the trash bin, he checked all boxes on the drive holding the program file and trashed them all.
Reloaded the contents and hey presto it loaded up as if nothing had been a problem at all.
Hope this may be of help to someone, sent a report asking for help to Ulead, but as yet no reply.
