MovieFactory for Toshiba and software update

I bought a Toshiba notebook with "MovieFactory for Toshiba" (version 5.51.0018.0 SE001).
I tried to update it with "Pack DVD MovieFactory 5 Vista" but it doesn't work because the install program does not recognize the current version on my PC.

Do you have in idea ?

Your version is a modified SE version and update packs don't always work with SE versions.

Acccording to HTChein isn't your version of MF5 already tailored for Vista?
If MF5 came on your computer with Vista installed already it should be the Vista compatible version.

Why are you trying to install the update to the MF5 program.
Problems? Or just thinking as I would also think to do which is install the latest updates to keep the product current.
The Toshiba version is a special edition version though.

In fact, When I burn my project I have an issue with the menu restitution.
I notice a discrepancy between the label I want to select and the position of the cursor.

That's why I would to install the last version of the software in order to try to solve the issue.

I've also noticed the actual link is that highlighted little icon thingy next to the video or chapters.
Unless yours is different, not sure you can make it work differently using the customize feature.

Hi,

same for me. I have tested with various menu model and each time the menu selection is not well placed according the menu text.

Finaly DVD movie seems to be useless since menus are broken!! Too bad since the MPEG compression seems to be realy good to me.

Is there any update for the Toshiba version (mine is 5.51.0018.0 SE001)???

I had a similiar problem. Here's the reply I got on my post:

Read this thread, the patches do not apply to your Toshiba version.
This person re-installed MF5 for toshiba and the program started working, he had the same problem as you posted.

Basically what it says is the patches don't work, you need to reintall the program from the Toshiba recovery disc. It works now and recognizes my pictures. I actually had to run the re-install twice from the Toshiba Recovery disc. One time to uninstall the program and the next time to install.

There is a new version available on the Toshiba support website.
After installing it all is working perfectly !

This is the same problem I am having, but I can not find it on Toshiba's website to update.
