VS11: Capture doesn't work and Chapters don't work !

I was having troubles with VS9 so a VS11 try out might fix the problem - I thought:

1) VS 11 appears to be very, very, very, unstable. With nothing else loaded on my PC and freshly booted VS11 can not stay up for more than 15 seconds without "system not responding" in the Task Manager. VS9 has no such troubles.
Yes I have a big Dell 9150 PC with loads of processor and Ram.

2) VS11 Can't recognise *and* hold onto my capture device. It takes about 1 minute of waiting then it declares it has found my capture device "would I like to use it ??" > Yes please > Opps VS11 has lost it. One minute later , it has found it again ... opps spoke to soon .. lost it ... opps got it !!! WinDV is solid as a rock : so no connection problems here.

3) Auto Chapters Sir ? > I'd like some please > opps spoke too soon ... can;t do that without crashing. VS 11 closes " sorry for the inconvenience"


Serious question> is there anyway of making sensible use of this programme ?? Are there any magical switches to get this to run which you need to push ??

At the moment it is unusable.
